Die Seitenbesitzer erkannten rasch den Wert einer bevorzugten Positionierung in Serps und recht bald entstanden Unternehmen, die sich auf die Verfeinerung ausgebildeten. In den Anfängen ereignete sich der Antritt oft zu der Übermittlung der URL der geeigneten Seite in puncto verschiedenen Suchmaschinen im Netz. Diese sendeten dann einen Webcrawler zur Auswertung der Seite aus und indexierten sie.[1] Der Webcrawler lud die Internetseite auf den Server der Search Engine, wo ein 2. Software, der gern genutzte Indexer, Infos herauslas und katalogisierte (genannte Ansprüche, Links zu sonstigen Seiten). Die neuzeitlichen Varianten der Suchalgorithmen basierten auf Angaben, die mithilfe der Webmaster eigenständig vorliegen werden, wie Meta-Elemente, oder durch Indexdateien in Suchmaschinen im Internet wie ALIWEB. Meta-Elemente geben einen Gesamteindruck mit Content einer Seite, aber setzte sich bald raus, dass die Anwendung dieser Tipps nicht verlässlich war, da die Wahl der eingesetzten Schlüsselworte durch den Webmaster eine ungenaue Erläuterung des Seiteninhalts reflektieren hat. Ungenaue und unvollständige Daten in Meta-Elementen vermochten so irrelevante Seiten bei individuellen Ausschau halten listen.[2] Auch versuchten Seitenersteller diverse Attribute binnen des HTML-Codes einer Seite so zu manipulieren, dass die Seite überlegen in Serps gefunden wird.[3] Da die neuzeitlichen Suchmaschinen im Internet sehr auf Gesichtspunkte abhängig waren, die bloß in den Koffern der Webmaster lagen, waren sie auch sehr instabil für Abusus und Manipulationen in der Positionierung. Um vorteilhaftere und relevantere Ergebnisse in Serps zu erhalten, mussten wir sich die Inhaber der Internet Suchmaschinen an diese Faktoren adjustieren. Weil der Triumph einer Recherche davon zusammenhängt, wichtige Ergebnisse der Suchmaschine zu den gestellten Suchbegriffen anzuzeigen, vermochten ungünstige Vergleichsergebnisse darin resultieren, dass sich die Mensch nach ähnlichen Möglichkeiten zur Suche im Web umsehen. Die Lösung der Internet Suchmaschinen vorrat in komplexeren Algorithmen für das Rangordnung, die Merkmalen beinhalteten, die von Webmastern nicht oder nur schwer manipulierbar waren. Larry Page und Sergey Brin entworfenen mit „Backrub“ – dem Vorläufer von Suchmaschinen – eine Suchseite, die auf einem mathematischen Algorithmus basierte, der anhand der Verlinkungsstruktur Internetseiten gewichtete und dies in Rankingalgorithmus einfließen ließ. Auch zusätzliche Search Engines betreffend zu Gesprächsaufhänger der Folgezeit die Verlinkungsstruktur bspw. fit der Linkpopularität in ihre Algorithmen mit ein. Bing
Is using a server side wildcard redirect good practice? This was done but the old domain urls are still indexed a year later. Rankings for the new domain are still terrible and not the same as before the change of address tool.

My question is that we see the usage of webp images more frequently, also Apple announced that he will support Google’s webp image format. Looking at most of the webshops using webp already the type of the image is webp, but they leave the extension of jpg for example https://google.com/image.jpg but type is webp. What could be the reason for that? Wouldn't it be better if the image would have a .webp extension or no extension at all. Is this related somehow to indexing or SEO? I think they do not want to make the redirect of the images and that’s why they change just the type of the file instead of changing the extension.

We did domain name change some months ago and over 3 months everything was fine in terms of ranking, then suddenly we lost all our ranking. All SEO guru have been indicating it's duplicate content issue because both old and new domain contents are on one server. Can you drop some light on this?

If you migrate your website then check out 301 redirect a few times. Even more, after migration control your redirects because it might break in some time.
