Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. PT and charged with driving underneath the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or increased, based on the Napa County Prison Justice Network's public reserving report. Each fees are misdemeanors.
TMZ was the first to report the arrest.Pelosi was making an attempt to cross SR-29 when his 2021 Porsche was hit by a 2014 Jeep traveling northbound on the road, based on a collision report from the California Freeway Patrol, which does not identify either driver as being at fault in the crash. Troopers have been called to the scene just earlier than 10:30 p.m., the report stated.
There were no injuries reported within the crash and the Jeep's driver was not arrested, the report said.
CNN has reached out to the freeway patrol and the Napa County Sheriff's Office for additional details.
Bail was set at $5,000 in accordance with the reserving report, and records indicate Pelosi was launched Sunday morning.
"The Speaker won't be commenting on this personal matter which occurred whereas she was on the East Coast," an announcement from Drew Hammill, Pelosi's spokesperson, stated. CNN reached out for an updated assertion after the collision report was released.
