Speaking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going forward until I really feel higher concerning the direction of our nation."

In a blog submit, Kapler questioned whether the country's leadership is committed to representing its individuals's greatest pursuits and whether or not america is really "the land of the free and the home of the courageous."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her kids. They blocked parents making an attempt to prepare to charge in to cease the shooter, including a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra necessary than our children's freedom to go to high school without needing bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he known as "the dearth of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I'm not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I could have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied with your country, you let it's known by means of protest. The house of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger action in opposition to gun violence in the US.

Kerr refused to discuss basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Warriors' sequence in opposition to the Dallas Mavericks, as a substitute raising his voice as he railed towards gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.

"Within the last 10 days, we have had elderly Black individuals killed in a supermarket in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we now have children murdered in school," Kerr told reporters at the start of the press conference.

"When are we going to do one thing? I'm drained. I am so tired of getting up right here and offering condolences to the devastated households that are out there ... I'm tired of the moments of silence. Sufficient."
