BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after multiple indicators saying "college shooter" were present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Safety announced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple expenses.

An elevated quantity of law enforcement officials had been placed at colleges in the communities on account of the indicators. Multiple faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the indicators across the communities, the Department of Security stated, however they determined there is no credible menace right now.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The security department launched a photo of the plate however blurred a part of it "to protect the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of felony threatening and three misdemeanor expenses together with false report back to law enforcement, false public alarm and criminal threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at the moment.
