Teen arrested after mother observed son had gun at Texas faculty drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Gray Information) - Several agencies responded to a center school in Texas Friday morning after a teenager’s mother noticed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock inform KCBD a mother was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Middle Faculty round 9 a.m. when she observed the firearm. The teen by no means made it inside the building, and he ran from the school.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the realm together with several different businesses in an attempt to search out him.
The teen was found near the varsity’s campus and brought into custody.
Authorities said the 15-year-old might be dealing with a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no risk made to the varsity or anybody inside the varsity.
O.L. Slaton Center Faculty was briefly positioned on lockout because of the incident.
