Teen arrested after mom noticed son had gun at Texas college drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Grey News) - A number of businesses responded to a middle faculty in Texas Friday morning after a teenager’s mom noticed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock tell KCBD a mother was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Middle Faculty round 9 a.m. when she observed the firearm. The teenager by no means made it inside the building, and he ran from the college.
The Lubbock Police Department responded to the area along with several other businesses in an try to search out him.
The teen was discovered near the college’s campus and brought into custody.
Authorities stated the 15-year-old may very well be dealing with a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no threat made to the college or anyone inside the school.
