Taliban chief orders women to wear all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme leader and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s girls to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on girls’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized power.

“They should put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it is traditional and respectful,” said a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a operate in Kabul.

“These girls who are not too previous or younger must cowl their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, with a view to keep away from provocation when meeting men who should not mahram (grownup close male kinfolk),” the decree stated.
