Taliban chief orders ladies to wear all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the nation’s women to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of many harshest controls imposed on ladies’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized energy.

“They need to wear a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's conventional and respectful,” stated a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was released by Taliban authorities at a function in Kabul.

“These women who usually are not too outdated or younger should cowl their face, besides the eyes, as per sharia directives, with a purpose to keep away from provocation when meeting men who usually are not mahram (grownup shut male family),” the decree said.

It added that if women had no essential work exterior it was “better they keep at dwelling.”

During their first regime between 1996 and 2001, the Taliban imposed related restrictions on ladies.
