Students walk out of schools in protest of gun violence

Days after at least 19 elementary college college students and two teachers had been killed in a mass taking pictures at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, college students at colleges around the nation staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, college students at Oxford Excessive College, the place a faculty taking pictures occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Four college students have been killed in the capturing.

Students at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California, also walked out of class, in support of the national gun security movement. The school was the site of a taking pictures in November 2019, through which two students had been killed.

"You see information day by day about children getting shot and other people your age dying and it's simply extremely unhappy and unbelievable, particularly to see like children youthful and youngsters my age," Janoff instructed ABC News. "I cant think about that being me; but it's possible because it occurs so typically."

The 17 year-old says her college's administration was in help of the walkout and she or he hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations across the nation send a transparent message that college students are a "united entrance."

A walkout may not necessarily change legislation, Janoff said, however these actions show "students are nonetheless united on this."

She mentioned that although most students aren't old enough to vote, they still wish to see change and are keen to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students do not should be quiet about it simply because they're a kid," Janoff said.
