Days after at least 19 elementary school college students and two lecturers had been killed in a mass taking pictures at an elementary faculty in Uvalde, Texas, college students at colleges across the country staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, college students at Oxford Excessive School, where a faculty taking pictures occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Four college students have been killed in the taking pictures.

"You see information each day about youngsters getting shot and other people your age dying and it is just extremely sad and unbelievable, especially to see like children youthful and youngsters my age," Janoff informed ABC News. "I cant imagine that being me; however it's possible as a result of it happens so often."

The 17 year-old says her college's administration was in support of the walkout and he or she hopes the over 200 deliberate demonstrations across the country ship a clear message that college students are a "united front."

A walkout could not necessarily change legislation, Janoff mentioned, but these actions show "students are still united on this."

She stated that though most college students aren't old enough to vote, they nonetheless need to see change and are keen to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students do not need to be quiet about it just because they're a child," Janoff mentioned.
