NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — It is a topic that's taken maintain in Tennessee: books like "Maus" or "Stroll Two Moons" have been pulled from shelves.

While these books could be banned from some colleges, there's nonetheless elsewhere you'll find them.

"Our job is just to make sure that if you need it, it is here for you," said Public Info Officer for the Nashville Public Library, Ed Brown.

"'Maus' is all checked out proper now," said Brown. "So we obtained more copies on order however as quickly as word obtained around about what occurred in McMinn County, we got quite a lot of holds."

Those are just a number of the two million other supplies at the Nashville Public Library.

"A lot of people do not need to read these books; they don't need their youngsters to must read these books, or compelled to read these books, and that's high quality," said Brown. And if you want to make your love for these supplies known, what better means than together with your library card? The 5,000 restricted version playing cards for the marketing campaign say "I learn banned books."

The aim is to get the 5,000 library cards in the fingers of latest sign-ups this month.

"We are not making an attempt to be a push again — a force pushing back in opposition to these selections — we wish to be an alternative to say, for those who may not have the ability to get it there... you will get it here," said Brown.

The limited edition library playing cards are available as long as supplies last.
