BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "faculty shooter" were found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Security introduced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple fees.
Guy Hanson. New Hampshire State PoliceAn increased amount of law enforcement officials have been positioned at schools in the communities because of the indicators. A number of schools initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.
Hanson allegedly placed the indicators around the communities, the Division of Security stated, but they decided there is no such thing as a credible risk right now.
The New Hampshire Division of Safety is investigating indicators that read 'college shooter!' which had been found in a number of communities New Hampshire Department of SafetyOne such sign was written on a paper plate. The security department launched a photograph of the plate but blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation."
Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of legal threatening and three misdemeanor fees together with false report back to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and felony threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
No other suspects have been charged presently.
