Man arrested in connection with “school shooter” signs found in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after multiple indicators saying "school shooter" had been found in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Division of Security introduced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple costs. 

An increased quantity of cops were positioned at colleges within the communities as a result of the indicators. Multiple faculties initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the signs around the communities, the Division of Security said, but they decided there isn't a credible risk right now.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The safety division released a photo of the plate however blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony charge of prison threatening and three misdemeanor charges together with false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and prison threatening. He's being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No other suspects have been charged at this time.
