Man arrested in connection with “school shooter” indicators present in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A person was arrested Friday after multiple signs saying "college shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Safety announced. Man Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple fees. 

An increased quantity of law enforcement officials were positioned at colleges in the communities on account of the signs. A number of colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly placed the indicators across the communities, the Division of Safety stated, however they determined there isn't any credible threat at the moment.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The safety division released a photo of the plate however blurred part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of legal threatening and three misdemeanor expenses together with false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and criminal threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.
