Great video and the tool is pretty cool too. But this process isn't really what you should call "plastic welding". The German DVS welding society guidelines advise that welding filament/rod should match the plastic you are welding for proper molecular level bonding and to match the original flex and strength of the panel. I'd call that more of a fancy hot glue gun 😛 Nice video though 🙂
Idea for manufacturer, why not just build our bumpers/fenders with built in gauze in the first place?..obv it would make them much stronger/less prone to crack, and once we broke/cracked them they would be really easy fixed just using a hot iron/gun??..built-in gauze Genius!?.. your welcome…
good salesman for an over the top repair.why not simply plastic weld it with a soldering iron,oops that would be too easy and you'd get no sale
