Investigators consider Mtula Payton was one of many alleged gang members who opened fire in downtown Sacramento on April 3. He was taken into custody at an condo complex, the Sacramento Police Department stated in a statement Saturday night time.
“Las Vegas Metro Police Division worked with our detectives for weeks in an effort to find Payton,” the assertion said.
It wasn’t recognized Sunday if Payton has an lawyer who could communicate on his behalf.
Payton and two others, brothers Smiley Martin and Dandrae Martin, had been charged this month with homicide in the slayings, in addition to weapons offenses.
Investigators provided no motive but stated in courtroom documents that Smiley Martin and his companions recorded a web based video hours earlier than the shooting, flashing guns and speaking trash from a location in rival gang territory. In it, they state their plans to go to the downtown space with the intent of opening hearth.
