Florida fifth grader arrested, charged with threatening a mass capturing, police say

A fifth grade scholar in Florida was arrested over the weekend and charged with sending a text message threatening to carry out a mass taking pictures, authorities stated.

In a press release Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned it had realized earlier that day of a "threatening textual content message" sent by a pupil at an elementary school.

It stated its native faculty menace enforcement staff was instantly notified and started investigating. The 10-year-old boy was interviewed and charged later with "making a written menace to conduct a mass taking pictures," the sheriff's workplace said.

In video shared by authorities, the boy might be seen being led right into a police automobile.

“This student’s behavior is sickening, particularly after the latest tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno stated in an announcement, noting that the threat came just days after the deadly school capturing at Robb Elementary Faculty left 19 students and two lecturers lifeless.

“Proper now shouldn't be the time to act like a little delinquent. It’s not funny,” he said. “This baby made a fake threat, and now he’s experiencing real penalties.”

Marceno mentioned his crew “didn’t hesitate one second...NOT ONE SECOND,” to analyze the incident.

The comment came as authorities in Uvalde face mounting criticism over their response to the Could 24 faculty taking pictures after it came to gentle that they waited roughly an hour for backup instead of immediately moving in on the gunman.
